Summary: Will be responsible for building, installing and repairing structures and other items using a variety of materials including wood and steel.

Primary responsibilities: Prepare the layout of the project.

Estimate the height, width, length, and other proportions.

Select materials.

Work with blueprints and specific instructions (written and verbal), visual demonstrations, take direction.

Work with materials such as wood, metal, concrete, plastic, fiberglass, and drywall.

Utilize chisels, planes, saws drills and sanders to repair and erect structures.

Join materials with nails, screws, staples, and/or construction adhesives.

Erect and work on scaffolding, ladders, and the top beams of buildings.

Check work along way to be sure it is up to code and specifications.

Use levels, rulers, plumb bobs, framing squares, and other surveying equipment to ensure everything is plumb, level and secure.

Work with prefabricated buildings / materials & building components.

Install cabinets and molding.

Remodel homes and businesses.

Build concrete forms.

Replace panes of glass, ceiling tiles, and doors.

Install partitions, doors and windows. Move and install machinery.

The candidate should be familiar with residential construction materials, techniques, tools, equipment, and overall industry practices.

The candidate should also have experience with framing, doors and windows, drywall, flooring, tile, finish carpentry, siding and exterior trim, roofing, concrete, and basic plumbing and electrical.

• Analytical and mathematical ability to complete complex carpentry tasks with minimal assistance.
• Ability to accurately measure, cut, and properly install a wide variety of appearance-grade materials
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks
